It is seldom that an experienced business partner in the Washington State chapter of Community Associations Institute closes its doors. This is what happened when the Sundberg & Pody law firm closed at the end of March. Fortunately, Washington law firms serving condominium and homeowner associations are a committed group of professionals who worked together to absorb the Sundberg & Pody clients. The collective commitment of our legal community avoided potential chaos among condominium and homeowner associations and the management companies that serve them.
Condominium Law Group took delivery of more than 250 banker's boxes of Sundberg & Pody’s client files. I’ve been asked by many managers and clients over the past few weeks how we did it. All six of our existing attorneys stepped up to help. We immediately ramped up by adding additional attorneys and legal staff over a weekend in late March, and began triaging all of the client files suddenly in our possession. Moving with lightening speed, our team completed the entire review of new client files in only 8 days! Two days later our legal staff completed entry of all matters into our legal database software. Fortunately, things have become more settled since the initial notification and delivery of those 250+ boxes on March 26th! Though we now have more clients, we are back to a normal routine of serving our clients.
The Condominium Law Group team is committed to serving Washington condominium and homeowner associations on all association general counsel, collection, warranty claim and construction defect matters. If you have any questions we can answer, please feel free to leave a comment or contact us directly. We look forward to continuing this conversation with you in our future posts!
